Nonviolent Communication in Teams: Turning Friction into Collaboration
A managing director came to us because his team had developed a harsh tone. Accusations, interruptions, finger-pointing. Together with the team, we built a solid foundation for nonviolent communication, made their inner roles visible and created a space where conversations are allowed to pause before they escalate. Like Hestia, guardian of the calm hearth fire, the team once again found a place at its centre where people feel safe and can speak openly.

We Tackle Every Challenge Together
What we put in order here makes an impact out there.
Challenges
Over the course of several months, an aggressive communication style had crept into the team. Discussions quickly turned into accusations, criticism became personal, and anyone who spoke up could expect pushback. Trust dwindled, quieter voices withdrew, and the managing director realised that the friction had long since begun to affect both morale and performance.
- An aggressive tone in day-to-day interactions
- Accusations instead of requests
- Withdrawal and silence
Little problems:
Our Solution
Step by step, we worked with the team to build a shared foundation for nonviolent communication. First, we created connection and a safe space, then offered guidance: which inner roles are actually speaking here? Using Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication, the team learned to separate observation from judgement.
- Created a safe space
- Made roles visible
- Made sure every voice was heard
Methods used:
It Takes Many Voices to Create Team Dynamics
Communication is complex. Misunderstandings often arise from our individual roles and lead to friction. The key is to untangle them and name them.
One Tone, Many Voices
Every dialogue begins within. When you know your own voices, you no longer have to force anything on the outside.
- Clarity emerges naturally
- Role structures are lived from the inside out
- A clear role and voice cultivate authenticity
Everyday Life as a Practice Ground
Real transformation doesn't show up in coaching. It shows up in the next difficult conversation.
- Challenging conversations are analysed immediately in one-to-one sessions
- Trial and error—keep checking which role is speaking now
- Listen actively—especially to your own inner dialogue
